Greetings Pilots!
We hope you’re having a wonderful Friday. With every passing week, we creep closer to realizing the dream of SALVAGE: Deep Space – a co-operative roleplaying adventure that sets out to put your crew at the center of their own story. If you’re anything like us, you may already have some ideas about pilot and suit concepts…
Production and Fulfillment
Hopefully you’ve noticed a few messages from us in your inbox over the past few weeks. We have charged cards for outstanding balances owed through BackerKit on 6/15, and the charge should have appeared on your bank statement as "3301 GAMES."
If you didn’t receive a charge, or if you don’t see any emails from us in your inbox please contact [email protected] for assistance. We’ve ironed out a few small issues so far, please don’t hesitate to ask for help. We appreciate your help getting us the last information we need to deliver your games.
Shipping Update
These beautiful boxes of sci-fi goodness are on their way to us very soon, and once we have them they’ll be on their way to you.
We have a number of backers picking the game up at the Gen Con 2024, which will also be your very first opportunity to pick one up for yourself, if you aren’t a backer.
A Gen Con Exclusive
At every convention we like to give away painted statuette versions of our starting Salvage Suits. At Gen Con this year, to celebrate the fulfillment of SALVAGE, we have a little backup from Turbo DorkPaints. Their super vibrant metallic paints and vaporwave vibes felt perfect for SALVAGE, and we’ll be giving away one of each starting exomech painted in brilliant metallics. Come to Booth 668 to sign up for your chance to leave the convention with one of these exclusive sculptures.
The Exclusive Statuettes are only one reason to drop by our booth at Gen Con this year. We’ll be showing off the finished game, you can pick up a copy, or pick up some collectibles (like pins or minis) to help support our next project.
More to Come
We’re thrilled to continue showing you what awaits in SALVAGE, and we’re even more excited to know that soon you’ll be able to explore the Post-Event Solar System. Thank you so much for coming on this journey with us, for supporting us and helping to bring this dream to life.

Countdown to Fulfillment

– Fri, Jun 07, 2024 at 03:37:05 PM
Greetings, Pilots!
First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for embarking on this adventure with us. Your generosity and enthusiasm have been a driving force behind SALVAGE: Deep Space, and we are eagerly counting down the days until we can place this incredible game into your hands. Without your support, none of this would have been possible.
Final Preparations for Fulfillment
As we prepare for the final phase, we would love to share our fulfillment process with you. We’ve chosen to integrate directly with BackerKit for seamless and efficient fulfillment. Here’s why this is the best choice for all of us:
Seamless Integration: BackerKit offers the most streamlined process for managing our pledges and rewards.
Logistical Lift: This method reduces the complexity of logistics like label printing/tracking, backer lists and information, and should ensure a smooth process getting games to you.
Self-Fulfillment Design: Perfectly tailored to our needs, as we handle fulfillment without a warehouse.
USPS Compatibility: Ensures reliable delivery right to your door.
Fulfillment Timeline
We are gearing up to charge the cards of our generous backers before making the final payment to WinGo. Here’s our planned timeline:
6/7: KS Update (the one you’re reading now)
6/7: Email Blast warning of charging cards and locking addresses by 6/14
We like to avoid cluttering your inbox, but this one is very important
6/7: Send out final Survey Reminders via BackerKit
These should only go to backers with incomplete surveys, however if you want to change anything - now is the time to do so!
6/12: 48-Hour Warning for charging cards and locking addresses
6/14: Charge cards and lock addresses
Once this happens, we’re well and truly locked in until fulfillment begins
6/17: Clean up of outstanding surveys/failed charges
If we hit any snags, we’ll reach out to individual backers directly at this time
7/1: Start staging/prepping shipping
Although the survey window has officially closed, it’s not too late to finalize your package details. Once we charge the cards and lock the addresses on 6/14, however, this deadline will be final. If you miss that date your order may be fulfilled in a later batch.
See You at Gen Con 2024
We are thrilled to announce that SALVAGE: Deep Space will be Exhibited at Gen Con 2024! If you’d prefer to pick up your pledge at the convention and save on shipping, please email us at [email protected] by 6/12.
At Gen Con, you’ll find us at booth number 668. Come see the game in person, pick up your copy, buy an extra one, or simply chat with us about the creative process behind SALVAGE: Deep Space. We can’t wait to meet new and old friends and share our passion for games.
More to Come
We’re thrilled to continue showing you what awaits in SALVAGE, and we’re even more excited to know that soon you’ll be able to explore the Post-Event Solar System. Thank you so much for coming on this journey with us, for supporting us and helping to bring this dream to life.

Anatomy of an Adversary Card
– Fri, May 24, 2024 at 03:07:20 PM
Incoming transmission, Pilots!
Every week brings us closer to the realization of SALVAGE: Deep Space. We’ve spent so much time crafting a game that we hope you’ll use to form memories and stories with your closest companions - stories of adventure, discovery, and the struggle against the darkness. This update is focused on some shipping and in-person pickup details, then a little more detail on our Adversary Stat profiles - and how to read them.
Right now we’re working with our manufacturer, WinGo Games, to finalize shipping logistics and lock down the best way to bring the games across the sea for distribution to your waiting hands. We’re on track to have that plan finalized within the next few days, which means we’re almost at a pivotal point in the project. Since we have shipping on the brain, we wanted to use a portion of this update to callout two things: in person pickup at Gen Con 2024, and the upcoming deadline to charge cards.
In-Person Pickup
Gen Con, our very first con - where we announced SALVAGE, has a very special place in our hearts. We’ll be back this year, in Booth 668, and if you’d like to have shipping fees waived you can pick up your game in Indianapolis. However, in order to prep for in-person pickup we need to know to expect you. Please email [email protected] to let us know you’ll be collecting your pledge, and we’ll ensure it’s ready for you at the booth.
Charging Cards Soon
We’re getting very close to the point where we’re ready to charge cards for fulfillment of the game. This is a preliminary notice, as we plan to provide another final notice at least 48 hours beforehand. Now is a good time to check the card associated with your pledge, to make sure everything goes smoothly. Just to reiterate: if you don’t want to pay for shipping, you can pick up the game at Gen Con, just let us know we should be expecting you.
The Anatomy of an Adversary Card
Throughout the development of SALVAGE: Deep Space, we’ve iterated on our adversary cards quite a few times. At every step we’ve been considering legibility, ease of use, and the over-all playability of these components. If you’ve had an opportunity to demo SALVAGE at an event, you’ve gone hands-on with the final version of this component. But, for all of you who haven’t yet had the chance, we wanted to show and explain the adversary card layout.
These cards bring a variety of foes to your Crew's missions, from Corporate Enforcers and Pirate Thugs to the dreaded Xenomartians and beyond. Your Crew will face a wide range of challenges.
When you set up a mission, you'll see a list of Adversaries on the Mission Page. Just draw the corresponding Adversary Cards to get started. Each card gives you the lowdown on the adversary's Toughness, Actions, and Special Abilities.
Plus, adversaries come in three non-boss classes: Normal, Veteran, and Elite.
Here's a quick breakdown of what you'll find on an adversary card:
Toughness: This is the threshold a Pilot must meet or exceed with a single Attack Action to Destroy an Adversary
Armor: The Armor value is denoted here. If this Icon is missing the Adversary has no base Armor.
Adversary Actions: These are the three possible Actions an Adversary may take depending on the Adversary Token drawn for them. Most will contain a Movement and/or an Attack Action.
Base Attack Value
Movement Value
Special Abilities: These are special features that some Adversaries may have
Adversaries don't move like your Pilots. They have two distinct movement types:
Charge: This happens when an adversary wants to make a melee attack. It will move its max distance to get right next to its target. If it can't, it will get as close as possible.
Rangefinding: This is used for ranged attacks. The adversary moves its max distance to get as close as possible without ending up adjacent to the target. However, if the adversary needs to be adjacent to attack, it will rangefind into adjacency. Remember, ranged attacks up close suffer from Disadvantage.
More to Come
We’re thrilled to continue showing you what awaits in SALVAGE, and we’re even more excited to know that soon you’ll be able to explore the Post-Event Solar System. Thank you so much for coming on this journey with us, for supporting us and helping to bring this dream to life.

Gaining Intel with the Sensor Array
– Fri, May 10, 2024 at 03:00:06 PM
Hello Pilots!
We hope this Friday finds you well. Everyone here at 3301 is working diligently to support our game, bringing it to life and getting ready to share it with you. We couldn’t have made it this far without your support, and every week we’re humbled and empowered by the support from our community of Salvage Pilots. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
This week’s update contains a brief project status check-in, as well as expanded information on how your Salvage Crew can use the Sensor Array on your ship to collect more intelligence before undertaking a mission.
Project Status
We’ve been working closely with WinGo as they begin production of SALVAGE. Right now, their team is creating the cards, boards, tokens, and more that will allow you to explore the stars. We’ve been really pleased with the graphic fidelity of the game, they’ve done an excellent job translating the designs into reality. It looks so vibrant!
We’ll continue to keep you updated on their progress as we receive word.
Spotlight: Sensor Array
When you're planning a mission in SALVAGE: Deep Space, gathering the right information ahead of time is really important. It can mean the difference between your Salvage Crew succeeding or failing. The equipment you choose for your crew and the pilots you assign depend a lot on what kind of challenges you'll face. Your ship has something called a Sensor Array that helps by giving you different levels of details about each mission. The better your Sensor Array is upgraded, the more info you get.
Every time your crew prepares to undertake a mission, you’ll look at the Mission Profile, which tells you about the environment, enemies, and what you’re trying to collect. But this is just basic info. To get more details, you use your ship's Sensor Array, which starts out at Level 1. This allows them you set up the Launch Tile with all the details from the Mission Profile and see all the Enemy Cards you'll face.
All the Enemy Cards needed for the mission are taken out and placed next to the set-up Launch Tile.
Now, your player group can look over your set-up, adding extra details to the basic mission info. How well you use this information can really help you make smart choices.
As you level up the Sensor Array, you can set up more Mission Tiles in your game space. This represents your scanner getting more detailed data from further inside the mission area. Keep in mind, though, that these extra areas can't be interacted with until you activate their Checkpoint.
Pick Up SALVAGE: Deep Space at Gen Con 2024
The delivery of our games from WinGo, and subsequent distribution to all of you, happens to coincide with the lead up to Gen Con. This means we’re thrilled to let you know–if you’re going to be at the con–you can swing by the booth and pick up your copy! If you’d like to do this, please just drop us an email (as some of you have already done!) and let us know so we can be appropriately prepared.
